Rockclimbing

The highest climbing wall in the Midwest will provide a fun challenge for youth. It is a 38 1/2 foot wall rising three levels through the middle of the Wellness and Recreation Center at the University of Northern Iowa. It accommodates up to 12 climbers at once and incorporates a lower bouldering wall. Staff from the university, specializing in outdoor pursuits, will supervise climbing activities. [more pictures]

 
Camp Ingawanis Overnight

Overnight camping and hiking for youth is located at Camp Ingawanis. Activities include swimming, hiking, camping, horseback riding, fishing and canoeing. These activities are fun while teaching important life skills, teamwork and build self-esteem. This facility offers 500 acres of wilderness that includes many types of wildlife and nature trails. Canoeing on the Cedar River

Youth will be able to paddle the Cedar River in canoes. Great scenery, good fishing, and abundant wildlife. [more pictures]

 
Mall of America

In the heartland of America, within driving distance of Cedar Falls, the Mall of America has it all. Located in the Bloomington and the Twin Cities area, the "Mall" is the largest mall in the USA. It features dynamic leisure activities, shopping and dining.

Mississippi River Boat

The Spirit of Dubuque is an authentic dual paddle wheel boat. It is designed to carry 377 passengers along with crew. It features an enclosed dining deck and an open upper deck for sightseeing. The excursion takes place down the Mississippi River on an hour and a half tour. It is the only Iowa based sightseeing and dinner cruise paddle wheeler on the Mississippi River. [more pictures]

 
Dubuque County Fair

The Dubuque County Fair is one of Iowa's popular tourism events. Year-round events include auto racing, concerts, horse and dog shows, arts and crafts celebrations, trade shows, carnival attractions and livestock judging. [more pictures]

 
Cyber Café

Held in a computer lab in the Wellness/Recreation Center, this activity will help youth develop and maintain a web page for the International Youth Camp. Students will each have their own link to the main web page where they will be able to incorporate personal pictures taken during the activities, write their own text and create a "cyber" journal. U.S. Arts and Crafts

A variety of hands on arts and crafts will be offered for youth including: ceramics, jewelry making and beadwork. [more pictures]

 
Dance/Cheerleading

This session for youth will be held in a mirrored dance room at the Wellness and Recreation Center and will feature dance from different eras along with cheerleading stunts and moves. The session will offer youth choreography for rock and roll, country line dancing, hip-hop and funk and ballroom dancing. Solo and partner cheerleading stunts will round out the afternoon activities facilitated by University of Northern Iowa cheerleaders. [more pictures]

 
Golf, Put & Tee

Located in the Cedar Falls community, youth will have fun on an 18 hole-par 72 golf course covering 159 acres. Includes a driving range, practice range and practice green. Also has professional staff for swing, put and tee off instruction. [more pictures]

 
Lost Island Water Park

Enjoy water park with huge wave pool, tubing rides, water slides, lazy river, hot tub and 18 holes "adventure golf" course. [more pictures]

 
Baseball Game

Let the good times roll! Enjoy the excitement of a Kernels Baseball game at the New Veterans Memorial Stadium in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. [more pictures]

 
Leisure Pool

With 2,514 SF of water surface this leisure area boasts a spa, bubble couch, and a 138-foot long, three-loop water slide. The spa seats 15 persons and has a waterfall that spills into the leisure pool. [more pictures]

 
U.S. Sports

Sports instruction and participation in football, basketball, volleyball and baseball will be available to youth. The half day event will be located in a practice field near the UNI-Dome at the University of Northern Iowa. Activities will include rules, practice, scrimmages and will culminate in sport tournaments to be held in the UNI-Dome at the end of the two week camp. [more pictures]
